This program was founded by CEP America providers Dennis Tankersley, PA-C, Lawrence Gates PA-C., and Rodney Borger, MD, in mid-2009 as a response to the demand for both a streamlined pathway to professional advancement, and for improved utilization of the Physician Assistant in the delivery of high quality cost effective emergency medical care.
The EMPA Fellowship promotes the recognition and advancement of the Physician Assistant profession by building on a foundation of primary care through the structured education of NCCPA certified Physician Assistants in the specialty of Emergency Medicine.
