Wesley A. Curry, MD, Presidentjoined CEP America in 1982 and is a Senior Partner. He is currently the President & CEO of CEP America, the largest democratic emergency physician group in the United States, with over 1,400 providers at more than 70 practice locations. Dr. Curry is a past chairman of the CEP America Board of Directors, having served in that capacity for eight years. He has served as a staff physician at the Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department since 1980. He is a member of the California Medical Association and the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (CAL/ACEP), where he served as President from 1989-1990. He is also an American College of Emergency Physicians Fellow and an American Board of Emergency Medicine Diplomate. Dr. Curry is from Dallas, Texas, and attended Stanford University. He received his medical degree from Harvard University Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, and completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco. Mark Spiro, MD, Vice President of Operationsis a Senior Partner who joined CEP America in 1986 as the Medical Director of St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California. He serves as CEP America's Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President of Operations. He is a staff physician in the Emergency Department at Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, California. Dr. Spiro is a member of the California Medical Association, the San Diego Medical Society, and the American College of Emergency Physicians. He received his bachelor of science from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and his medical degree from Michigan State University. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Ted Kloth, MD, Executive Vice President of Business Developmentis a Senior Partner who joined CEP America in 1976. He is currently CEP America's Executive Vice President of Business Operations, as well as a staff emergency physician at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, California. Dr. Kloth is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors, served on the Executive Committee of the Board, and acted as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He attended undergraduate and medical school at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, and completed a mixed medicine internship at Harkness Community Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco. He was a Medical Epidemiologist at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta and trained in Family Practice at Shasta General Hospital in Redding, California, as part of the UC Davis program. Dr. Kloth is an American Board of Emergency Medicine Diplomate, a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society, and an American College of Emergency Physicians Fellow. tedkloth@cep.com.
Prentice Tom, MD, Chief Medical Officeris a Senior Partner who joined CEP America in 1993. He serves as CEP America’s Chief Medical Officer and is a staff physician in the Emergency Departments at Good Samaritan Hospital in San Jose, California, and El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California. Before joining CEP America, Dr. Tom was a faculty member of the Stanford University Medical School, Division of Emergency Medicine. He has participated in numerous medical organizations, including the International Medical Corps, Bosnia and Emergency International, where he served as long-term project coordinator for the China Project. Dr. Tom holds a bachelor’s in Medical Physics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a medical degree from Harvard Medical School, where he co-founded the Asian Health Organization. He completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and was a Kaiser Fellow in Health Policy and Management at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. prenticetom@cep.com. |
