Jay Kaplan, MD,joined the CEP America Partnership in 2003 as the Director of Service Excellence. Nationally recognized as an expert in the clinical areas of emergency medicine and service excellence, Dr. Kaplan provides customer service and operational consultations to CEP America contracted emergency departments. In addition, Dr. Kaplan is the Medical Director for the Studer Group, an organization that provides operational and service excellence consultation to hospitals nationwide, and the Physician Advisor for Press Ganey Associates, the nation’s largest patient satisfaction survey company. He is also a staff physician in the Emergency Department at Marin General Hospital. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Harvard University and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, graduating Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. Dr. Kaplan completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California, Davis - Sacramento Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine. Dr. Kaplan has received numerous awards including Outstanding Speaker of the Year in 2003 from the American College of Emergency Physicians, and Physician of the Year in 2001 by the New Jersey State Society of Physicians Assistants.
Myles Riner, MD,joined the CEP America Partnership in 1980 and is Director of Provider Relations, as well as a staff physician at Marin General Hospital in Greenbrae, California. He was also a member of the CEP America Board of Directors for six years. Dr. Riner obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and earned his medical degree at Emory University School of Medicine. He completed a rotating internship at Los Angeles County/University of Southern California. Dr. Riner served as President of the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians (CAL/ACEP) for 2006-7. He is Board Certified with both the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Riner has been published in the Annals of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medical Services, and Western Journal of Medicine.
Ghazala Sharieff, MD,joined CEP America in 1998 and is a staff physician at Pomerado Hospital and Palomar Medical Center. Dr. Sharieff received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and her medical degree from Michigan State University School of Medicine. She completed her residency at Stanford University, followed by a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Hospital and Health Center in San Diego. Dr. Sharieff is currently the Chair of the ACEP Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee. She also served as the Co-Chair of the AAEM Education Committee and was a member of the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM). Dr. Sharieff is an Assistant Editor for the pediatric section of the Journal of Emergency Medicine and an Editorial Board Member for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Practice. She has also been published in a number of journals and lectures nationally and internationally on a wide array of topics, dealing primarily with pediatric emergency medicine. Dr. Sharieff is also a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. |
