California Emergency Physicians Medical Group Awarded Emergency Department Staffing Contact in Bay Area

(December 11, 2002, Oakland, Calif.)—California Emergency Physicians (CEP) Medical Group, located in Oakland, Calif., has been awarded the Emergency Department management and staffing contract at St. Rose Hospital, which is part of Via Christi Health System.

St. Rose enjoys an excellent reputation for providing superior customer service and quality care. In 1999, St. Rose received the "Best Hospital" Award from the Daily Review, Hayward's local newspaper. In addition to basic emergency services, the Emergency Department offers radiology, laboratory, and respiratory services 24 hours a day. The Emergency Department serves nearly 30,000 patients each year.

As the newly appointed Medical Director of St.Rose, Dr. Armando Samaniego is enthusiastic about working collaboratively with the St. Rose staff to form an effective and cohesive team that will improve operations over time. His goal is to ensure that St. Rose becomes the Emergency Department of choice by providing quality medical care to the community and implementing patient satisfaction programs and initiatives.
