(December 4, 2003, Oakland, Calif.) For the second year in a row, French Hospital Medical Center Emergency Department received the Patient Satisfaction of the Year Award by California Emergency Physicians (CEP) Medical Group, the leading provider of Emergency Department physician staffing, management, and consulting services.
The Patient Satisfaction of the Year Award was presented based on the results of a CEP-wide patient satisfaction survey of patients who were treated at CEP-contracted Emergency Departments in Spring 2003. The results of the survey indicated that the Emergency Department ranked number one for patient satisfaction based on survey results. As part of the survey, patients rated their overall experience in the Emergency Department in terms of quality of care, satisfaction with registration, X-ray, lab, and the care provided by the physicians and staff. French Hospital Emergency Department also received the Patient Satisfaction of the Year Award in 2002, again ranking number one based on survey results.
"It’s an honor to receive this award two years in a row. The Emergency Department team at French Hospital Medical Center is dedicated to providing high quality care in a safe and comfortable environment," said Dan Culhane, MD, Medical Director of the Emergency Department. "We strive to go the extra mile."
