CEP Announces First Woman to Board of Directors in 20 Years

(March 2004, Oakland, Calif.,) —California Emergency Physicians (CEP) Medical Group is proud to announce that Mary Fitzsimons, MD, Emergency Department physician at Sutter Delta Medical Center, has been elected to the Board of Directors. Dr. Fitzsimons is the first woman to serve on CEP’s Board of Directors in nearly 20 years. In addition to her role as Board Member, Dr. Fitzsimons is the Regional Director for CEP’s Sutter Health facilities in Northern California.

Dr. Fitzsimons has held a number of leadership positions at Sutter Delta including Medical Director of the Emergency Department from 1987-2000 and President of the Medical Staff in 1984. Currently, she serves on Sutter Delta’s Board of Trustees. She is active in several medical associations including the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the California Chapter of ACEP, and the American Medical Women’s Association.
