(October 2006, Emeryville, California) CEP America has awarded physician assistant Jerry Joseph, PA-C, with a 2006 Distinguished Service Award. Mr. Joseph works in the CEP America-staffed emergency department (ED) of Natividad Medical Center located in Salinas, CA. The leadership team of CEP America selected Mr. Joseph out of over 450 physician assistants and nurse practitioners eligible for this award; only two individuals were honored. The award was presented to Mr. Joseph at CEP America’s Annual Partnership Meeting held this year in Palm Desert on October 30th.
Distinguished Service Awards are given to individuals who display clinical superiority, leadership, patient rapport, proper documentation, diplomacy and dedication. Mr. Joseph received the award for excelling in all of these categories. His knowledge and experience enable him to essentially work on the physician level. He is a fantastic teacher for physician assistants and is a leader in promoting positive staff relations throughout the Natividad facility. Jerry has the highest patient satisfaction scores, a stellar documentation record, and is known to even come in on his days off when problems arise. Emergency Department Medical Director Jeffrey Bass, MD, commented, “Jerry has been a godsend for Natividad. I cannot imagine anyone else more deserving of the award.”
Natividad Medical Center is a 172-bed acute care medical center owned and operated by Monterey County. Modern, spacious and technologically advanced, Natividad is a premier community hospital offering acute care, outpatient specialty and primary care clinics.
