Elaine Nelson, MD, and Cyndy Flores, PA-C, of Regional Medical Center of San Jose, Receive Prestigious Physician-PA Award

(May 2006, Emeryville, California)---Nearly 10,000 members and guests of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) are expected to gather in San Francisco over Memorial Day Weekend for the organization’s yearly national conference. At this time, the AAPA will recognize two members of Regional Medical Center of San Jose’s emergency department, Elaine Nelson, MD, and Cyndy Flores, PA-C, for their exceptional, collaborative medical service by presenting them with the 2006 Physician-PA Partnership Award.

According to the AAPA, the award “…honors a physician-PA team that exemplifies the unique relationship of trust, collegiality, and mutual respect that is essential to the PA profession.” In addition to the crystal Paragon Award, Dr. Nelson and Ms. Flores will each receive a cash award of $2,500, as well as a donation in the same amount to the charity of their choice. The women will be recognized at a special awards luncheon and, again, during the general session.

“Personally, I can not explain to you what an honor it is to win this award and to win it alongside Dr. Nelson, who is my mentor, an exceptional Medical Director, and one of my best friends,” said Ms. Flores.
