Carsten Zieger, DO, Named Medical Director at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital

(May 2006, Emeryville, California) --California Emergency Physicians (CEP) Medical Group is proud to announce that Carsten Zieger, DO, has accepted the position of Medical Director in the Emergency Department (ED) at Arroyo Grande Community Hospital. Located in Southern San Luis Obispo County, the 12-bed ED provides care to approximately 22,800 patients every year.
As Medical Director, Dr. Zieger will be responsible for the operational oversight of the emergency department.
Dr. Zieger’s goals for the Emergency Department include, “expert patient care in a timely and compassionate manner.”
Says Regional Director, Dan Culhane, MD: “Dr. Zieger has served as the Associate Medical Director for Arroyo Grande Community Hospital for several years and is active in the hospital medical leadership. He has an extraordinary commitment to clinical excellence and brings outstanding leadership skills to this position.”
Dr. Zieger received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Utah. He went on to earn his medical degree at the University of Health Sciences-College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City where he graduated first in his class. Dr. Zieger completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of California, San Francisco-Fresno where he performed the duties of Chief Resident.
Prior to accepting the role of Medical Director at Arroyo, Dr. Zieger served as Assistant Medical Director and worked on several hospital committees including the Credentialing Committee and the Critical Care Committee. Some of Dr. Zieger’s interests include running, snowboarding and scuba diving.
