Site Description

John Muir Medical Center - Walnut Creek (JohnMuirHealth.com) is a Level II trauma center serving all of Contra Costa and parts of Solano, Marin, and Alameda counties. The current ED patient volume is 48,000, including over 1,400 trauma victims per year. The main department has 19 beds, and there is also a 7-bed ED extension, staffed 12-16 hours per day, in which physicians see less critically ill or injured patients. The ED Back-up Panel is excellent and responsive, covering such specialties as neurosurgery, vascular surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, spine surgery, urology and many others. Excellent in-house physicians are available 24 hours a day to serve trauma surgery, internal medicine/hospitalists, pediatrics, anesthesia, and OB/Gyn patients.

Walnut Creek is a suburban community located several miles east of Oakland in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area. While not as large as neighboring Concord, Walnut Creek serves as the business and entertainment hub for the neighboring cities within Contra Costa County.
