Located in the heart of San Francisco, Saint Francis Hospital (SaintFrancisMemorial.org) serves the emergent/urgent health care needs of San Francisco's most ethnically diverse and densely populated neighborhoods. A new Emergency Department at Saint Francis is home to a board-certified physician group and a nursing staff that has been trained and certified in a broad range of medical emergencies including Advanced Cardiac Life Support, radiation accident events, mass casualty events, disasters, infectious diseases, burn trauma and pediatric emergencies. In 2008, the Emergency Department was designated a Primary Stroke Center, receiving the Gold Seal of Approval from the Joint Commission.
